Wall Anchor & Brace Installation
Wall anchors consist of two steel plates, one mounted on the inside of a foundation wall and one buried into the soil a minimum of ten feet out from the wall. These two plates are then connected together by using a single piece of all-thread (steel) which is then fastened in place.
Braces are steel channel that are mounted at the bottom of the wall or slab and at the top to the joist or bearing plate.
Both perform similar functions in stopping a wall’s lateral movement. There are times when these products can be interchanged and times when they are a specific answer to an individual solution.
Sizing, specifications and placement are dictated by a licensed third party structural engineer. We are happy to refer you to one of the many engineers we work with every day.
