Helical piers vs resistance piers

Many people ask me every day which type of pier they should use and my answer is always the same… Use the pier your structural engineer suggests. There are so many things that need to be considered when choosing a pier such as load, positioning, soil capacity and many other conditions. The best advice I can give is to have a licensed, third party structural engineer do an investigation of your property and make his judgement. Colorado Structural Repair are always happy to suggest a repair plan and cost but even then, our results must be verified by an on-site engineering inspection. Don’t fall for “we just send our engineer photos, he trusts us”. Meet the engineer in person, make sure you are as comfortable with the engineer as you are your contractor.
